HEY HEY!!
Let's talk about this mask situation and what it is doing to your skin!
Do you feel like for the first time in a long time you are breaking out around your mouth? Or do you feel like your acne is getting out of control all of sudden because of how much you are having to wear your mask?
It is so frustrating, I get it! I wanted to share some tips to keep your breakouts under control.

To start, I wanted to shed some light on how non - hormonal acne starts. Acne lives best in an anaerobic environment, so under your mask,  or maybe under your tight uniform. Heat, Irritation, and no oxygen is the perfect living circumstances for acne.

I tell you this so that your frustration is at a minimum && so you can be informed on how to combat it as much as possible!

  1. Wash your face immediately after taking your mask off, even if it as simple as splashing some cold water on your face
  2. Apply a serum or a cream that will start to restore your skin’s natural barrier. I am not just saying any sort of lotion, you need something with hyaluronic acid and glycerin, these products keep your hydration locked in your skin while your mask is on.
  3. Wash your mask frequently, just like a washcloth, you don't want to have any sort of built up bacteria in your mask. If you are reading this right now, and giving me the middle finger, here's a busy girl hack during the week. Toss it in the microwave for 10 seconds, if nothing else you will kill the bacteria hanging out in your mask.
  4. Go makeup free, hot stuff, traditional makeup straight up clogs your pores and just adds to further issues.
  5. Splurge and get yourself a silk face mask, just like your pillowcase, it creates less friction, takes less of your moisture out of your face, and therefore will combat more of your breakouts.
Keep wearing your mask, keeping staying safe. Feel good in your own skin, it is a beautiful place to be.
