FINDING JOY IN THE DETOX

Hey Hey!
I hope this email reaches you in a sense of peace, during a crazy time in our world. I want to bring you a few beauty pointers while you may be stuck at home, while we rest up and detox from our regular life.

If we view this time as just a little pause, it will become less of a fearful head space. I know there is more to it than that, but we don’t have much control of the rest. So let's think about all the things we can control! More time in the fresh air, more time reading, binge watching Love is Blind, more snacks, and LESS shampooing. For all you haters of the less shampooing movement, here is your time to start training your hair without anyone but your roomies’ knowing. Sometimes the grease can look a little out of control in the beginning of your hair training term, so it is the perfect opportunity to let the grease flyyy for a bit while your scalp readjusts to your new washing schedule. Now, don’t be fooled into thinking one greasy week will change your hair, but the worst is over, and you are on the road to healthier shinier hair. When you let your scalp do more of the work and shampoo way less, your hair will prove to you that your scalp knows best.

More time on your hand could also mean, more time with a hair mask on! Usually your hair mask gives the direction of letting it sit for 5-10 minutes. The cool thing about any mask you have, it can always sit on longer! So once you lather up in the shower, hop out, read your favorite, or eat an ice cream cone, ya know, whatever sparks joy. (for me all the above) More time with hair masks on, less time with heat and shampoo on your hair. Speaking of masks, while you have your hair mask on, throw a clarifying mask on your face! While you have been trying to keep your hands off your face to keep you healthy, you have also been keeping your pores less clogged, in turn having a clearer complexion. So adding your face mask just is speeding that change up a bit. Want one more step? Go makeup free, it is just the perfect time to give yourself a break from clogging your pores daily.

I know, I know nothing you read today is new, but it is just a gentle reminder that it is all okay. Your hair and skin will benefit from a few little changes, while you press pause, slow down, and simplify.

I love this, sometimes I joke that I wish my life had a pause button so I can get caught up. Let's up our self-care big time! Great share and fun vibe!
